A day after a mob created ruckus outside a Karachi Bakery outlet in Bangalore, the company has issued a statement on Saturday, February 23 clarifying that it was established in India in 1953.

Khanchand Ramnani, who had migrated to India during partition, founded the Hyderabad-based bakery. There are several outlets of the hugely popular bakery in different parts of the country.

Twitter users underlined that it is a matter of shame that the company has to issue a statement of this nature and give a proof of “patriotism”.
