Congress president Rahul Gandhi wrote to Congress chief ministers on Wednesday, December 12, asking them to implement recommendations identified under the party’s #BehtarBharat campaign to address the issues of students and youngsters across the country.
In his letter, Gandhi stated that the party’s youth wing, the National Students’ Union of India (NSUI), had come up with a viable agenda under the campaign after having “structured conversations with youth and students in the country”. The letter added that, “…Access and equal educational opportunity for all, a system of fair play, and a progressive nation-building identity is at the heart of this (#BehtarBharat) agenda,”
Specifying the recommendations of the NSUI towards fulfilling the agenda, Gandhi added, “Block-level youth clubs to ensure direct access to opportunities, counselling and mentoring; overhaul of the examination system; and a students right commission are some of the recommendations.”
Earlier in December, Gandhi had written in an open letter to the student community of the country, assuring them of giving “direct access to opportunities and ending corruption.” The letter, reportedly, was to be translated in all languages and distributed in colleges by the NSUI as part of Congress’ #BehtarBharat campaign.
