Before the beginning of the Winter Session of the Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday, December 11 made a statement without mentioning anything related to the assembly election results.

“I welcome everyone to the Winter Session. This session is very important. From the government side, many issues related to the public interest and country’s interest. I hope all the members of Parliament will co-operate and all the issues are discussed. I hope that we work more than the stipulated period this time,” he said.

When a reporter asks if the results of the assembly election in five states would be a referendum on his (Modi’s) rule, the prime minister walked away from the reporters.

The early trends are not in favour of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh — three states where the party is in power.
