Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) president Amit Shah announced to his Twitter followers that he has donated Rs 1,000 to the party through Narendra Modi mobile app.
He urged BJP “karyakartas and well wishers” to donate to the saffron party.
Interestingly, Shah, who has declared assets worth Rs 34 crore and an annual income of over Rs 43 Lakh (2016-17), casually asked others to also donate Rs 1,000 just like he did.
As a BJP karyakarta myself, I have donated an amount of Rs 1,000 to the party through NM app. I appeal to all our karyakartas and well wishers to join the initiative for bringing in transparency in public life and donate using either NM app or at https://t.co/VILyxBFfdE. pic.twitter.com/J828UwsIq2

Notably, BJP is also the richest political party among the seven national political parties in India, with a declared income of over Rs 1,000 crore (2016-17).
