In a strongly worded email, the office-bearers of the BCCI have replied to the Supreme Court-appointed Committee of Administrators, led by former CAG, Vinod Rai. The email accuses the CoA of trying to make sure that “no office bearers exist” and that the CoA intends to “supplant and replace the office bearers and assume their powers and functions”.
This was in reply to the directions issued by the CoA (story first reported by NewsCentral24x7 yesterday).
The CoA had yesterday issued guidelines for the BCCI office bearers which prevented them from traveling or calling meetings without CoA’s approval, raising questions about payments approved by the CoA (to be made by the BCCI) and also from communicating freely. In the email, the BCCI office bearers (led by Acting Secretary Amitabh Choudhary) accuse the CoA of disregarding Supreme Court’s express instructions. See email.
