The Chattisgarh Municipal Corporation had spent more than Rs 2.5 lakh to celebrate International Yoga Day as they were expecting more than 5,000 participants at Jayanti Stadium, Polo Ground in Bhilai on June 21. But, not a single local turned up for the event.
Even the Municipal Corporation officials who had spent four days in constructing the pavilion, arranging mattresses for the event, chose not to come, Dainik Bhaskar reported.
“The event was organised on the orders of zone officer. Now I don’t know why people didn’t come,” said R.K Saahu, superintendent engineer at the Municipal Corporation, Bhilai.
