Distressed by the prevailing water crisis, residents gave a notice of 24 hours to the officials to restore water supply.
The residents of Pushkar, experiencing acute water shortage for over two months now, staged a protest outside the water pumping station of the Water Supply Department on Wednesday.
Distressed by the prevailing crisis, the residents gave a notice of 24 hours to the officials to restore water supply. Women residents of Tirthi district broke water pots outside the station.
The residents revealed that for almost two months there has been minimal water supply. Earlier, the residents used to receive drinking water supply for merely one hour in a day. This further reduced to half an hour in the last 48 hours, residents claimed while protesting.
“Due to technical problems, we are not receiving water supply from main line. This is the main cause of disruption in supply drinking water to the residents. The issue will be completely resolved in 2 days and water supply will be restored,” said an official of the Water Supply Department.
