Another Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from Uttar Pradesh has blamed “corruption” in the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath government for the party’s bitter defeat in the Kairana and Noorpur by-polls.
On Friday, BJP MLA from Beria, Surendra Singh said, “Corruption is rampant in the state, and things will not change unless there is punitive action.”
Singh told The Indian Express that in order to ensure the BJP’s victory in the next election, his party would have to replace “inefficient” ministers.
“After the loss, the first thing the party should do is replace ministers who shy away from work with efficient and non-corrupt leaders who are ready to take responsibility. Bureaucracy does not belong to anyone and only one who is not corrupt can control it,” Singh said.
On Friday, BJP MLA from Gopamau in Hardoi, Shyam Prakash wrote a poem on Facebook to express his dissatisfaction with Adityanath’s policies.
Prakash recited the poem publicly saying, “Corruption is on the rise.”
“The chief minister should work harder and look into this, otherwise, it won’t work,” he added.
He did not name the chief minister in his poem, but said, some people who have got power because of Prime Minister Narendra Modi could not deliver as per the will of the public.
“The control is in the hands of RSS and organisation, while the chief minister is helpless,” Indian Express quoted him as saying.
