The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is ruling in 21 out of 29 states in India. They almost had the 22nd state too. But, the ugly web of trickery, money, and corruption didn’t work. The Congress and Janata Dal (Secular) [JD (S)] MLAs didn’t jump into the BJP’s boat in Karnataka.
The Congress party released five audio tapes of BJP strongman G Janardhana Reddy, BS Yeddyurappa, Yeddyurappa’s son BY Vijayendra, Yeddyurappa’s close aide BJ Puttaswamy and BJP leader B Sriramulu. In the audio tapes, the BJP leaders are heard shamelessly fixing a price to keep their government in power in the southern state. The horse-trading and naked show of power is worrying at many levels.

BS Yeddurappa trying to bribe BC Patil
BSY: Hello
BC Patil, MLA: Anna Namaskara, congratulations
BSY: Where are you
Patil: Going to Kochi in the bus
BSY: Don’t go to Kochi, come back. Come back we’ll make you a minister and help you in whatever way you want.
Patil: Anna, okay. You’ve told me now. If you tell me something about what next.
BSY: I could tell you when the time was right, which is why I’m doing it now.
BSY: Now don’t go to Kochi, come back.
Patil: But we’re in the bus
BSY: Don’t go, make some excuse and come back.
Patil: So what will be my position
BSY: You will become a minister
Patil: Anna I have 3 other people with me.
BSY: Bring them with you, you have faith in me no?
Patil: Yes yes
BSY: Now come back and don’t go in the bus.

JR: I will tell you one thing. BSR time we had very bad time when we formed the party, where there was a lot of opposition. There is no doubting that you have lost a lot by believing in us. But I am telling you, you will grow a 100 times more. Shivanagouda nayak became a minister because of me. Today he is strong and able to look after himself. It all happened because of me. Raju Gowda also benefitted because of me.
BD: Yes.
JR: It was your misfortune that it was our bad time. Today Shivanagouda winning is not useful. You will become minister. Did you understand? Directly we will make you meet the big man. I will make you speak to him..(audio break). you will make 100 times the wealth you made so far.
BD: I am sorry sir. I was on my last leg when they gave me a ticket and made me win. In such a situation I cannot betray him. I respect you…

B Sriramulu trying to bribe Congress MLA B C Patil
Sriramulu: Namaskara, I am Ramulu speaking.
Patil: Namaskara
Sriramulu: What amount are you expecting?
Patil: ‘Sahebru’ (Boss) didn’t tell me anything.
Sriramulu: Tell me what amount are you expecting?
Patil: That you should tell.
Sriramulu: Some 25 have been spoken to. How many people do you have with you?
Patil: 3-4 people are with me. I have to clarify. Am confident.
Sriramulu: Will get them 10-15
Patil: How about their position?
Sriramulu: Will make them ministers
Patil: In my constituency, Banakar is strong. If there is re-election. there will be a problem.
Sriramulu: Don’t worry, there won’t be an election. We will elect our Speaker and prove the majority. Like in Andhra and Telangana, there won’t be any disqualification of MLAs. So you don’t have to worry about an election. I will now give the phone to Murlidhar Rao, you speak to him.
