A youth was reportedly beaten up by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers in Himachal Pradesh’s Kalka on Wednesday, April 24 for questioning the saffron party over the promise of Rs. 15 lakh and the unemployment.
Dainik Bhaskar reported that during a debate held by a television channel in Kalka, twenty-two year old Pradeep asked BJP MP Latika Sharma about the failure of the Narendra Modi-led BJP government to fulfil the promises made in the run up to the 2014 election.

The report adds that Sharma left without answering the question, but when Pradeep, a resident of Nagal village in Kalka, was walking home, he was roughed up by BJP workers outside the party office. Pradeep had reportedly asked Sharma why unemployment had not ended and where the two crore promised jobs were.
BJP zonal president Sunil Dhiman told Dainik Bhaskar that they were holding a meeting in the Pinjor office when they heard commotion outside and called the police. He said that there was a man outside who was talking rubbish, but they don’t know who. He said that they will proceed further after checking the CCTV footage. Dainik Bhaskar tried to reach MP Latika Sharma but she did not answer their calls.
