Maharashtra water resources minister Girish Mahajan was manhandled when he got caught in the middle of a feud between Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers during a rally at Amalner in Jalgaon district, Maharashtra.
In a video that has gone viral, BJP workers can be seen shouting at the leaders on stage when a politician thrashed his neighbour, prompting the people to climb up on to the dais and wreak havoc.

The BJP candidate from Jalgaon constituency Unmesh Patil had replaced the party’s previous choice Smita Wagh. The BJP had announced her candidature, but later on, changed it. As per a Mumbai Mirror report, Patil and sitting MP AT Patil had campaigned against Smita Wagh and ensured that the party ticket does not go to her.

After facing the public embarrassment Smita’s husband Uday Wagh, the BJP’s Jalgaon unit president was reportedly upset.
Girish Mahajan was joined by several BJP leaders on the stage at the rally, including Smita Wagh, Uday Wagh and Unmesh Patil. As the rally progressed, Wagh and his supporters lost their temper and attacked Patil. Mahajan tried to intervene but was also struck in the process.
Recently, the Saharanpur BJP district president was caught on video attempting to hit a farmers’ leader with a shoe. Earlier in March, a video went viral of two elected BJP representatives resorting to blows during the district planning committee meeting.
