Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Lok Sabha candidate from Bangaluru South, ‘Chowkidar’ Tejasvi Surya, was accused of abuse by a woman on Twitter on Thursday, who also questioned why the party had given him a ticket without a background check.
The woman claimed to have suffered at the hands of Surya for years.
“Is @Tejasvi_Surya another M J Akbar in the making? Dear @BJP4India, @Tejasvi_Surya seems to be a great choice. #BangaloreSouth will remember,” wrote Karnataka Congress, and also posted screen shots of comments made by the woman on Twitter.

The woman who accused Surya appears to have deactivated her account. As seen in the screenshots, she also alleged she was not his first victim or would be the last and also claimed said she was ready to share proof.
In a surprise move, denying a ticket to the wife of union minister and six-time MP late Ananth Kumar, the BJP fielded the party’s youth wing leader Surya from its bastion of Bangalore South. 28-year-old Surya, a lawyer, filed his nomination on Tuesday, amid resentment within the party over Tejaswini Kumar, who runs an NGO and is known for social work, being denied the ticket.
