The Pulwama blast, killing 44 CRPF jawans, has swirled the nation into much grief and unrest. Kashmiris living outside the Valley have faced harassment from angry mobs as public retaliation to the terror attack. Students and professionals leaving away from family have been mainly targeted. The CRPF has stepped in to help the Kashmiri students who have reached Jammu from across Chandigarh, Dehradun and other parts of the country.

The Jammu and Kashmir zonal CRPF arranged for food and transport provisions for more than 250 Kashmiri students who fled their respective locations to return to Kashmiri. A Times of India report said that the students hailed mostly from South Kashmir and were safely taken back to their hometowns on Monday, February 18.

The report further added that the CRPF Madadgaar helpline, set up when news of intimidation of Kashmiris started coming in, in the aftermath of the attacks, had received around 70 calls from students and professionals, mostly dwelling in metropolitan cities.

Instances of the Madadgaar team reaching out local police have also come up where, in Gurgaon, the college and local administration assured the students from Kashmir of their safety. When Kashmiri families in the Valley could not get their ration, as supplies had been cut off due to the curfew, the nearest CRPF battalion reached out to them upon receiving calls at the helpline.
