Former Jammu and Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday, January 1 slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi for calling Triple Talaq an equality issue and labelling Sabarimala as a matter of “tradition”.
In a tweet, Abdullah said that one is a “Muslim issue” and the other isn’t referring to Triple Talaq and Sabarimala, respectively. “That’s why I am able to tie myself in knots explaining the contradiction of my government’s response,” he added.
In his interview to ANI, Modi said that “Triple talaq is a matter of gender equality; Sabarimala is about tradition.”
