The order issued by the Modi government on Monday calling for the introduction of Bhagwat Gita (Urdu) and Koshur Ramayan in all educational institutions in Jammu and Kashmir, has been withdrawn today by the state government.
The state police took to Twitter to inform that the circular “stands withdrawn ab initio under the orders of the chief secretary.”

Former Chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah had slammed the Narendra Modi government at the Centre for ignoring other religions.
Abdullah took to Twitter on Tuesday, and questioned why the Modi government was being ‘selective’ with religious texts.
