On Sunday, a viral video showed a Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) MP Nishikant Dubey’s feet being washed by a local party worker, Pawan Shah, in Jharkhand’s Godda district.

Even though the incident drew sever condemnation on social media, Dubey refused to apologised. He defended himself saying it was a ‘customary practice’ in Jharkhand, reported The Indian Express.
“If a party worker washes the feet out of happiness, what is amazing in it. Washing the feet of the guests is a customary practice in Jharkhand,” said Dubey in his Facebook post. He also compared the incident to that of Krishna and Sudama in the Mahabharat.
Dubey’s lousy justification failed to convince social media users.

This feudalist mindset of the BJP-RSS. Reminds me of Mohan Bhagwat getting his feet washed from women.
Dubey says it's the love of his supporters. Well, it's time Nishikant Dubey shows his love towards Modi & Amit Shah. Fair enough?https://t.co/laa0Xk4m7p
