Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday, reached a new level of denial when it claimed that diesel is cheaper today in the country at Rs 72/litre as compared to Rs 56/litre in 2014.
BJP’s twitter handle, in an attempt to attack opposition Congress party, shared fuel prices under UPA government versus Modi government.

It also went on claiming that petrol sold at Rs 80.73/litre in Delhi today is less than Rs 71.41/litre sold in 2014.

Notably, in petrol prices graph, the party chose to depict the bar of Rs 80.73 much smaller than that of Rs 71.41. Similarly, in the diesel prices graph, the bar of Rs 56.71 is shown much greater than Rs 72.83 bar.
Furthermore, the right-wing party clearly skipped mentioning that petrol and diesel prices continue the upward trend despite crude oil prices being significantly low when compared to UPA regime.

BJP’s incredulous claims gave Twitter users a field day. Here are some hilarious reactions on the internet:

Dear #BJP, you need a new marketing chief; publicizing #Modi when India is on the streets is suicidal, it is political arrogance at its worst. Also, your facts are twisted; petroleum prices are measured against global crude oil prices, and you have bamboozled us. #BharatBandh https://t.co/i1TdC09hEI
