Rahul Palayattu, an Indian origin man from Kerala was fired from his job in Muscat, Oman, after he posted offensive comments over the on-going relief operations in flood-battered Kerala.
When someone on Facebook asked if people required sanitary napkins to be supplied in Kerala, Palayattu replied, “Shall I send some Condoms as relief material.”

Palayattu’s insensitive comment received flak from several social media users and soon after, Palayattu’s employer, Lulu group, issued him a termination letter.
The letter stated, “This is to inform you that we have terminated you from services with immediate effect because of your highly insensitive and derogatory comments on social media with regard to the current flood situation in Kerala, India.”
Kerala is witnessing the worst floods in 100 years, with all rivers in spate. According to an Economic Times report, the death toll reached 372 on Sunday morning with over over six lakh people living in relief camps. People from all around the country and world are donating money, food, clothing and other necessities to help the people of Kerala.
