Banda (UP):
A man has been arrested for allegedly raping a minor in Uttar Pradesh’s Banda district, police said on Wednesday.
Kuldeep Tiwari had allegedly raped the minor two days ago in a village in Naraini administrative area, 233 km from Lucknow, a police officer said.
Initially, the girl did not reveal the incident to her family. On Tuesday, Tiwari entered the girl’s house and allegedly tried to rape her again when she raised an alarm, following which the victim narrated her ordeal to the family members and neighbours, the officer said.
The accused has been arrested and a medical examination of the girl has confirmed rape, he said.
A case has been registered against Tiwari under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act, he added.
