English news channel Times Now stooped to a new low on Monday when they invited panellists to debate if Rakbar Khan, the dairy farmer who was lynched by a mob in Alwar on suspicion of cow smuggling, “invited violence”.
The show, which aired around 8 pm on Monday night, was titled, “Did Rakbar Khan and other minority community members who were lynched by gau rakshaks invite violence because they hurt Hindu sensitivities? asks Rahul Shivshankar.”
A news flash read, “Who’s the ‘real merchant of hate’?”
Many individuals criticised the news channel for airing propaganda and for its attempt to justify lynching.
They “invited” their own murder? And you consider this a question worth asking? pic.twitter.com/BPgKziafW5

This so-called tv anchor @RShivshankar is openly justifying & promoting lynching of minorities by Hindutva terrorists – his real place not inside @TimesNow TVstudio, but should be the Tihar Jail. https://t.co/IB2k52jExu

Dear @TimesNow you would make any free media puke. Disgraceful https://t.co/baxIxTISRG

Radio Rawanda playbook this. The damage that Times Now is doing to the social fabric of India is irreparable. https://t.co/4HQ7o3gTDm

Name me a bigger scam than Times Now and Mirror Now. (I will wait)

This is Gobbels & Rwanda speech – blaming the victims is the oldest trick in the book to justify violence & let the accused go scot free. We all remember what happened to Hitler & his henchmen. @vineetjaintimes & @RShivshankar should know that windmills of the Gods are working.

The only way to stop @TimesNow and the hate it propagates is to take it, the anchor & the owner to court.
Am sure we can crowdfund money if needed.

Or boycott. Don't go there, don't watch them, don't talk about them. Utopian I know. But the most effective way. Just make them irrelevant.

I have a feeling that each day, all Times Now employees start their day with the following cheerleading chant while Vineet Jain waves pom-poms in the air:
Who are we? Times Now
What do we do? Save the cow
What’s our game? Victim shaming
What’s our aim? Victim blaming pic.twitter.com/nHlTRG3wv6— IndiaExplained (@IndiaExplained) July 25, 2018
Rakbar Khan was lynched by cow terrorists and died already. These media terrorists won't stop lynching his soul. How does this disgusting man see his face in the mirror every morning? https://t.co/QECMiXY3MU

Notice that same logic will justify all rapes. Next they will say "She invited the rapists by exposing her skin", right?
Wait, Sanghi already say that! Nothing new except rotten regressive mentality. https://t.co/h0DXG2mhyM
