Jayant Sinha Deliberately Misleads On Jharkhand Lynching Case, Gets Schooled By A Lawyer

Lawyer Chitranshul Sinha on Friday, gave Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP) minister Jayant Sinha a taste of his own medicine when he tried to mansplain actress Swara Bhasker on Twitter.

BJP lawmaker Sinha wrongly claimed in a tweet that the case on Ramgarh lynching convicts is under IPC section 304 which is “culpable homicide not amounting to murder.” Talking to NewsCentral24x7.com, lawyer Chitranshul Sinha clarified that this case is in fact under IPC section 302 which is culpable homicide “amounting to murder.”

He said, “Section 302 is technically murder and section 304 is ‘not amounting to murder’- it’s manslaughter. This case is under section 302. In public perception, he’s trying to reduce the crime itself. Now, people who don’t know the law, they would believe him, being a minister of the central government.

He’s trying to mislead everyone. Maybe he doesn’t know himself or maybe he knows and is still trying to mislead people.”

Chitranshul asserted that even if bail has been granted to the convicts, it doesn’t change anything and that they are still convicts at the end of the day.

“He’s actually defending the indefensible,” Chitranshul told NewsCentral24x7.com.

Bollywood actress Swara Bhasker had called out Jayant Sinha on her Twitter handle on Thursday for garlanding eight lynching convicts at his residence in Jharkhand on June 5.

BJP lawmaker Sinha was quick to attack Bhasker and tried giving her a lesson on law.

However, Supreme Court lawyer Chitranshul Sinha stepped in and schooled the BJP minister instead.
